Xooctory needs a flexible way to configure what needs to be done in jobs, when and how. Today there is only the concept of project which is very limited.

The idea is to introduce the concept of job plan, defining what the plan is about, when to launch jobs, and how the jobs should be performed. The uple of what when and how is a job plan. To make it very flexible, what, when and how will be reusable items. So you can define a how once (eg checkout SCM then run ant) and reuse it for all your job plans. Or define a what once (project commons-foo branch 1.1) and reuse it in the job plan “commons-foo branch 1.1 nightly” and “commons-foo branch 1.1 weekly” in which only the how would differ (run a different target for instance).
